René van der Gijp has been given two weeks by Talpa to relax before the Today Inside circus starts again, but his holiday is in serious trouble. “Poisoned!”
There are few TV stars in Hilversum who do as many broadcasts as the men of Today Inside. Fortunately, there is now Hélène Hendriks who can occasionally relieve them and with success: she even broke the one million viewer mark last night, despite the somewhat duller broadcast, and that is a truly incredible achievement.
Food poisoning
Hélène will be on the channel for two weeks and in the meantime the men of VI can take a breather. Johan Derksen simply stayed in the Netherlands, but René van der Gijp and Wilfred Genee left for the Caribbean. They also both celebrated New Year’s Eve there, separately.
René is currently still on Bonaire, but his holiday is in serious trouble because his wife Minouche is seriously ill. She posts a photo Instagram where she lies in bed behind closed curtains. “This. All day,” she writes. “Food poisoning.”
War reporter
René has been having a hard time with Minouche lately, because she has been active as an Insta war reporter for several months. She posts all day long stories and films about the war in Gaza. Whenever she does something fun, such as celebrating Christmas with René, she feels very guilty. Or she makes a lot of fuss.
Minouche has been a bit heavy-handed lately, but he will undoubtedly handle it better under the sun. “I’m going to do my war reporting from a different place. 😉✈️ #bye,” she said just before her flight.
