René van der Gijp takes his hat off to Linda de Mol: ‘So sweet!’

René van der Gijp thinks it is extremely generous that Linda de Mol has taken in five Ukrainian refugees. He thinks that cynicism about this is not appropriate. “It’s so sweet.”

Linda de Mol has opened her palace doors to five Ukrainian refugees. The news came out because a paparazzo from the Weekend happened to be standing in front of her gate at the time. Angry tongues claim it is a charm offensive, but editor-in-chief Bart Ettekoven denies a one-two punch with Linda.

‘Dear man!’

René van der Gijp also thinks that cynicism is out of place here. “We can be sour, but in this case… Then again I read everywhere that she is trying to start a charm offensive, but I think that if you bring five Ukrainians into your house… A mother, a daughter and three children. I think that’s something,” he says in Today Inside.

It is commendable of Linda, René thinks. “I take my hat off to that. I like that too man.”

Cynical

Johan Derksen, who always stands up for the Mol family, also thinks it is going too far. “The cynicism of the Dutchman towards the entire De Mol family, that is poignant. Those people can’t do anything right. They have a lot of money, a lot more money than us and probably everyone, but that doesn’t make those people bad.”

He continues: “Linda de Mol cannot do anything about the whole affair; he’s just a victim.”

‘Well…’

Wilfred Genee: “Well, she was accused of having approached her brother earlier in the Ali B case. That’s what she keeps getting told, right?”

John: “Yes, yes. But afterwards, people all know exactly how it should have been.”

Wilfred: “Only take in five people…”

René: “No, I really think… This has nothing to do with a charm offensive. You do this simply because your feeling tells you to and that you have to do it. I think it’s incredibly sweet when someone does that, five people in the house.”
