René van der Gijp does not want to sign a new contract with Talpa yet

René van der Gijp does not feel like signing a new contract with Talpa at the moment. “I don’t see the point in it. Not really seriously. I can see the sentence for them, but not for myself.”

The men of Today Inside are negotiating a new contract with John de Mol. The current agreement expires at the end of the year, but at Talpa they are already thinking about next year’s European Football Championship summer. And although RTL pretends in the media that they are not interested in the VI trio, you cannot rule out hijackers on the coast.

New deal?

The VI gentlemen sit according to it AD close to a breakthrough. The newspaper suddenly reported yesterday: “Only with ‘Gijp’ the last folds should be ironed out. Under a new agreement, the gentlemen would earn between 1.2 and 1.4 million euros per person per year.”

According to the newspaper, there is also talk of an evening-filling format for the Friday broadcast. The SBS 6 show Avastars is currently struggling with horror figures on that evening and the cast of the follow-up show The Talent Scouts shows so much overlap that the channel prefers to postpone it. The new Friday VI should therefore already start on April 7.

‘Amount is incorrect’

Johan Derksen confirmed on camera yesterday evening Show news that talks are in progress. “Wilfred talks to John de Mol and René and I are not involved at all. I’m the least businesslike of the trio. When John calls out an amount, I say, ‘John, okay.’”

According to Johan, the amounts mentioned are not correct. “I have never heard that amount. That seems to have been in the newspaper today or something, but that is not an amount at all that I know.”

René not enthusiastic

Johan finds it no problem to extend the Friday show. There would also be more room for music. “Yes, but that’s The Clarks playing an opening again, that’s the only thing. The program will be twenty minutes longer. The salary I earn, if I have to work twenty minutes longer for it, then I can live with it.”

However, colleague René van der Gijp is not at all enthusiastic. He says: “Yes, they want to make that from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. I think 9:30 PM to 10:30 PM is just a great time.”

And about the amounts that are going around: “No, zero, absolutely nothing. Not really.”

‘Makes no sense’

René confirms that he does not yet feel anything for a contract extension. “I would like to sign a new contract, but I don’t see the point. Not really seriously. I can see the sentence for them, but not so for myself.”

The football analyst continues: “Look, they want to assure themselves of that whole summer, then you can make 90 broadcasts in two months. And I think to myself: yes, okay, but I just have another contract and I will just serve that contract.”

Hostile Gyp

Telegraaf reporter Jordi Versteegden also spoke with René. According to the reporter, René van VI does not want to make a family show. “He says: ‘Who is waiting for a show from us between 8.30 pm and 10 pm? Then we can’t do what we’re doing now at all, just show all those g**le movies.”

René also said that Talpa ‘has no budget’ for a salary increase. “He says that we should rather think of an amount between eight and nine tons. René says: ‘Then let’s sit down at the table in six months. Only then should there really be a new contract and perhaps then there will be a piggy bank that you can pay us out of.”

He decides in one video on De Telegraaf site: “René does indeed walk through those negotiations a bit sluggishly, because he is like: what can be negotiated at the moment?”
