According to René Mioch, the rise of juice channels is appalling. He thinks it’s a shame that the showbiz world now has to deal with the revelations of Yvonne Coldeweijer and her juice colleagues. In his own words, he is more into celebrating stars, so the working method of the Yvonne-like people is very far from him.
Disgusting
René is very sorry. “I’ve always thought there was nothing more disgusting than the hardcore gossip magazines you have in the UK and America, but the juice channels top that every week. How people are pilloried before anything is even proven…”, he says in New Revue†
He continues: “It may be 40 percent true, but 100 percent hanged. I think that’s really awful. And I’m also afraid of what it means for the real journalists, because more and more stars don’t want to give interviews anymore. George Clooney stopped giving interviews a few years ago.”

René thinks you should applaud those stars. “When George Clooney stays at the Amstel Hotel, turns on the TV and an item I made about him comes up, he must think, so to speak: I am proud of my own career.”
He keeps himself very far from gossip. “I really only have one real rule and that’s something I’ve always said: I don’t gossip. I’m not waiting for people at the airport or at their house, and I’ll never try to get them to make statements that they don’t support themselves.”
