René Froger is featured in the Panorama this week with a major interview. The magazine honestly mentions what the singer absolutely did not want to talk about: juice channels. And that is not so strange.
It is of course not at all surprising that René Froger does not want to talk about juice channels in interviews. In the new SBS 6 talent show De Hollandse Nieuwe – tomorrow is the premiere – he forms a jury with Danny de Munk and Samantha ‘diet pill’ Steenwijk. This pair has been through a lot of work on juice channels in recent months.
Infected jury trio
Where Danny is accused of transgressive behavior, Samantha was chastised by gossip about the use of diet pills. His alleged misconduct is currently under investigation by musical giant Stage and Samantha has theatrically enforced a rectification. The whole riot cost her a lot of image points.
René is now the center of a somewhat infected jury trio and he obviously does not want to throw oil on the fire. When Samantha Steenwijk and Danny de Munk are discussed, his fellow jurors who have recently been the target of gossip channels, he is very firm. John de Mol
Panorama does ask the singer whether he has not hesitated to make a program with Talpa, since John de Mol is currently under fire for his role in the riot surrounding The Voice of Holland. “Not a second. I have nothing to do with The Voice at all,” he replies resolutely.
He continues: “The way I see it: a good program is a good programme, and De Hollandse Nieuwe is a good programme. Made by good people with whom I have enjoyed working for years. The same applies in music: a hit is a hit. Does it matter who produces it? Oh no?”
