French automaker Renault announced Wednesday evening that it would immediately suspend “activities at the Renault plant in Moscow” and “examine options as to its stake” in its Russian subsidiary AvtoVAZ. Ukraine had earlier in the day called for a boycott of the car brand because the French group refuses to leave Russia.
