Un new album to reflect on the present. Renato Zero is ready to publish Self-portraithis new project out on December 8th for Tattica.
Renato Zero: Self-portrait? «I’m the one sifting myself»
Presenting this album, the Roman artist explained. «Silence, these days, is inadvisable for almost everyone. I never did anything to encourage him. My artistic production, so tangible, is proof of this! Of course, valid arguments, good material and a lot of healthy determination are needed to defeat “the dangerous quiet of penury”. My modest works have fed me.”
And he added. «It was an irrepressible and perpetual courage that gave me artistic and psychophysical health, without which I would never have seen the dawn again. […] Music only makes sense if it is done together with others! But then why the title Self-portrait? «This time I’m the one sifting through myself. I feel the need to look inside myself, to evaluate my resistance. Checking how much autonomy I still have and how much patience my beloved public has.”

Renato Zero: concerts in Florence and Rome
The thirteen songs of Self-portraitso I am the opportunity for the singer-songwriter to look inside himself. And in addition to unpublished ones they are present also songs that the audience has already had the opportunity to appreciate live on the occasion of the concerts of 070 at the Circus Maximus and the tour Zero a Zero – A challenge in music.
Speaking of this, Renato Zero is also planning a return to tour. In fact, he has announced concerts in Florence and Rome. His Event Concerts they will be at the Nelson Mandela Forum in Florence on 2, 3, 5 and 6 March 2024 and at the Palazzo dello Sport in Rome on 13, 14, 16, 17, 20 and 21 March 2024.
«I invited my audience to take to the streets»
Presenting this album, the King of Sorcini (last night guest at Elodie’s concert) talked about today’s dramas. «Women today pay for everything that men fail to achieve and suffer all their anger. If men could give birth certain things wouldn’t happen. Given certain facts, I find it incredible that the lesson still hasn’t been learned».
Second the singer-songwriter, a strong stance is needed. «I invited my audience to take to the streets and not stay inside the four walls feeling sorry for themselves. The achievement of certain victories has always occurred on the square, putting your face and nameand in a serious moment like the one we are going through, this square should never be repopulated like now.”
He concluded: «We have taken to the streets in the past for much lighter situations than these. Now that there is an urgency to make this appearance before power and these abstract entities, instead, we stay at home in front of the television, which is another sleeping pill, another lie, another scheme».
