The match between Barcelona and Rea Betis had been played for 83 minutes when Lamine Yamal made club history: he became the Catalan giants’ youngest ever La Liga player.
The winger was only 15 years and 290 days old on Saturday night. He replaced on the field Gavin18, who is not spoiled by age either.
For the sake of comparison, let’s say that the opponent’s ranks were full of youth Joaquin41, who had already played 215 games in La Liga before Yamal was born.
In the list of the youngest players of all time in La Liga, Yamal reached the fifth place. Number one is Luca Romerowho made his debut in 2020 at the age of 15 years and 219 days.
Barcelona won the match 4–0. All the goals were scored before Yamal had entered the field.
