The 14-year-old Zandvoorter Santi went viral last year with a NH Nieuws video of his failed selfie with Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff. “Cunt, my mother is calling”, he exclaimed when he was just in front of it and the selfie failed. This year he will again be at the entrance of the circuit all weekend to ‘score’ drivers and Toto.
“I’ll put the phone on silent,” he says as he explains his plans for this year. And if his mother wants him home for dinner “then she’s out of luck”. Sending an app is still allowed, because he has found that it cannot disrupt the recordings with his mobile. Last year demonstrated he NH News how it went wrong.
While Santi is taking pictures again this week, sporting director of the Dutch Grand Prix Jan Lammers is also being interviewed. He is an acquaintance of the Geevers family. Can he do something for Santi then? “If you don’t do anything, it won’t get you anything”, but he can’t promise much more.
