The breakup between Leontine and Marco Borsato has a very different reason than many people think, reveals a insider to Story magazine. “It was Marco’s decision this time.”
After a revival of their love in the summer of 2021, things quickly went downhill again between Marco and Leontine Borsato. At the end of that year it was revealed that there was a report of abuse against him and the riot around The Voice of Holland came on top of that: an accumulation of scandals.
Breakup
One of Marco’s best friends announced last May that he has virtually no contact with Leontin anymore. She was not even present at his mother Mary Borsato’s birthday earlier this month. According to Yvonne Coldeweijer, Leontine is now in love with someone else and she is being chased by RTL Boulevard, among others.
What’s the deal with that breakup? Was Leontine tired of all the dirty rumors about Marco? Had she lost her faith in him? Or is there something else going on?
Another reason
One thing is certain: there is currently no question of a relationship. “In itself, that is currently true,” an insider tells story. “But not for the reason that many people think. This time it was Marco who let Leontine know that it is better not to have a relationship for a while.”
Why didn’t Marco want more than? “He wanted her to be able to live her own life without being confronted everywhere and at all times with the accusation leveled against him. It is actually the ultimate form of love. He lets her go so she can move on with her life and he can prepare for the trial in peace.”
No new lover
The rumors of a new love interest are “nonsense,” says the Story source. “Leontine has no new boyfriend. She’s glowing so much because she feels like she’s started a new chapter in her life.”
According to the source, it is not excluded that Marco and Leontine will still get back together. “Just as she is Marco’s dream woman, Leontine still loves Marco very much. Everyone hopes they will get back together someday.”
