Reinout Oerlemans is completely done with John de Mol. He finds the working method of the media billionaire objectionable and wants absolutely nothing to do with it. “Never mind!”
Reinout Oerlemans gave a big interview to Frank Evenblij. The result could be seen last night in more than fifty minutes report on NPO 1, good for 812 thousand viewers. They saw, among other things, how the extremely wealthy TV maker lashed out at media billionaire John de Mol.
Contact with John
From Los Angeles, Reinout keeps a close eye on what is happening on the Dutch TV market. “I’ll keep an eye on it, of course. For example, I had seen that marble show. I thought: I have always been a bit opposed by Mr De Mol, by John. That’s never really been a friend, I’ll just say.”
Nevertheless, Reinout decided to get in touch. “I made contact and I said, ‘Gosh, Marble Mania, a huge success. It might be nice to work together to get that done in America.’ ‘Well, have fun and think about it.’”
“Well, never mind”
Reinout’s enthusiasm quickly gave way to disgust. “Then three days later I read in the newspaper that it had been stolen from an autistic boy on YouTube. Then I thought: ahhh. Then I also said, “Well, never mind.” Never mind…”
Frank: “It’s not going to work out between you and John, is it?”
Reinout: “No. That is not my way of doing business.”
“I’m going to destroy you!”
It’s no secret that John has always been jealous of Reinout. “Do you know how much a 1 with 9 zeros is?”, John de Mol seems to have once asked him. “A 1 with 9 zeros is one billion. One billion euros that is. I have two of those. And I’m going to use them all to destroy you.”
Unfortunately for John, that didn’t exactly work out.
