Reinforced BDS steals the show from Heretics

On the second day of the group phase in the European League of Legends league LEC, Team BDS beat the recently strong Team Heretics 2-1. The runner-up can now also plan for the season finale.

“With Heretics, we didn’t really know how they wanted to play,” BDS top scheduler Adam “Adam” Maanane said in a post-game interview. “I was surprised that they focused on the top plane this time. It hasn’t worked for them so far.”

After a strong spring season, summer hasn’t quite gone according to plan for BDS. Ironically Heretics, previously twice ninth in the league, placed in front of the runners-up in the table, who now turned the tables in the group phase in a direct duel. Although the Spaniards won the first game, BDS was in top form after that and won 2-1. The team is now firmly in the game for the season finale, where Worlds spots are at stake.

Afterwards, top favorite G2 Esports prevailed against Koi. The winter champions got off to a bad start in the first game, but fought back and didn’t give their opponents a chance in the second game.
