Reigning national champion Bloemendaal is now dealing with HGC and is in the final

The Bloemendaal hockey players have made it to the final. On their own field, the Noord-Hollanders were 2-1 too strong for HGC, which managed to pull out a deciding match.

Last Thursday it seemed to be a difficult story for HGC, because Bloemendaal won convincingly in Wassenaar with 3-0. Yesterday, however, Bloemendaal lost 3-1 to HGC at home, so the decision had to be made today.

Bloemendaal, which recently seized the EHL title, was eager in the opening phase and that led to many opportunities. HGC stayed in the game because the post prevented hits from Thierry Brinkman and Yannick van der Drift. It was almost a miracle that HGC was still in the game.

Completely against the ratio, the visitors even took the lead four minutes after the break. Alan Forsyth tapped in a cross from the left. The national champion had to work hard and soon decorated a penalty corner. Tim Swaen knew how to handle that and brought ‘t Kopje into ecstasy by scoring the equalizer. Ten minutes after the break, Roel Bovendeert equalized and Bloemendaal took the lead.

The home team had enough chances to decide the game early, but failed to do so. HGC also had little to offer. Bloemendaal therefore plays the final against Pinoké, who was too strong for Amsterdam in two matches.
