Regional visit by King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima started on rainy Texel

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima arrived on rainy Texel by helicopter on Tuesday morning. The royal couple will start a two-day regional visit to the Dutch Wadden Islands here.

The royal couple was welcomed by the helicopter at Texel International Airport by the mayor of Texel Michiel Uitdehaag and, among others, the commissioners of the King of North Holland and Friesland. A first meeting then took place inside the airport. The mayors of the other Wadden Islands were also present. The first destination of the regional visit is Museum Kaap Skil.

The royal couple will also visit Vlieland and Terschelling on Tuesday, and on Wednesday they will travel to Ameland and Schiermonnikoog. The theme of the trip is the quality of life on the Wadden Islands and everything that comes with it.
