It all came down to penalties as Shamsu Mansaray became cup heroes. The BSV Rehden midfielder scored in the 89th minute to give the outsider a 1-0 (0-0) win.
Confused Meppener could not believe their bankruptcy after the final whistle and sank to the ground disappointed. Around them, the people of Rehden danced across the lawn and celebrated their surprise coup, which was not undeserved. Meppen barely achieved anything offensively in front of the 700 fans who had traveled with them, while Rehden delivered a strong fighting and tactical performance.
In 2013 it was against Bayern
After 2013 and 2014, BSV is in the first round of the DFB Cup for the third time (July 29 to August 1) and can look forward to a guaranteed income of 130,000 euros. Rehden’s season isn’t over yet
While the season is now over for Meppen, BSV Rehden still has two games to play in the relegation round of the Regionalliga Nord. Coach Kristian Arambasic’s team is still fighting to stay up. But everything looks like staying in the league. With two games left, BSV Rehden has a four-point lead over the first relegation zone.
