Refugees can stay a week longer in Hunsowhal in 2nd Exloërmond

The eighty refugees staying in the Hunsowhal in 2e Exloërmond can stay there for a week longer. This was decided by the municipality at the request of the COA.

The COA has not yet found a place for the refugees who are now temporarily staying in the hall. The extension means that the eighty refugees can now stay there until Monday 12 September. “I hope that local residents in 2e Exloërmond support our decision and understand our decision,” said Mayor Jan Seton. He says that COA is making great efforts to find another place for them.

Local residents have been notified of the extension by letter. According to the municipality, this is the last extension for the shelter in the Hunsowhal.

Another group of refugees who are currently staying in a sports hall in Exloo will leave according to plan. They will leave on Friday for a new location that the COA has found.
