Refugees are allowed to stay longer at Tynaarlo campsites

Ukrainian refugees are allowed to stay longer at holiday parks Akenveen in Tynaarlo and De Eswal in Vries. The Municipal Executive has decided to extend the reception until April 1 next year.

The refugees have had shelter at the campsite since April, including in tiny houses and hikers’ cabins. The Ukrainians were guaranteed a place until October 1, but because the war continues, the municipality has decided that they can stay longer.

The Board will also investigate the possibilities of receiving the refugees for a long time. This does not only look at Ukrainians, but also at emergency seekers and status holders. Various locations and housing types are being examined.

Mayor Marcel Thijsen of the municipality of Tynaarlo is satisfied with how the reception has been arranged in the municipality so far: “With the motto ‘peace, cleanliness, regularity and WiFi’, we receive our Ukrainian guests at Akenveen and De Eswal,” he says. . “The efforts of many volunteers, officials and the owner of the locations make this possible and I find that heartwarming.”
