Refugees again housed at a holiday park in Dwingeloo

At the De Noordster holiday park in Dwingeloo, 24 houses will be available to accommodate refugees from Ukraine. They can stay here from Monday October 16 to March 15 next year.

It is not known how many refugees are housed. This depends on the size of the influx from the war zone. The size of new families in the park also has an influence.

According to the municipality, two so-called location managers are regularly present at the park to ensure everything runs smoothly. In addition, the location is supervised in the evening and night.

Mayor Rikus Jager: “Because the influx of Ukrainian refugees continues to increase, we as the municipality of Westerveld have been asked to provide additional shelter places at short notice. We are grateful for the collaboration with RCN Vakantiepark De Noordster and the opportunity to to realize temporary emergency shelter.”

This is the second time in a year that De Noordster has offered emergency shelter. In October 2022, eleven chalets became available for a maximum of 40 asylum seekers. This lasted until December 1.
