Refugee shot at the European Union’s external border

According to an investigation by the German public broadcaster ARD and other media, Bulgarian border guards allegedly shot a refugee at the external border of the European Union (EU) in Bulgaria. According to those media, it concerns a young Syrian whose name is known and who was taken to a Turkish hospital after the incident. In an initial response on Tuesday, Bulgaria denied that its border police had fired on migrants.
