There are 5 minutes left until the final whistle when Maroua Morchid enters the field with a hijab to cover her head. The race director orders her to take it off, apparently because he is worried about the safety of the girl who also had a neck warmer attached to her veil. “After the initial dismay and amazement, at the requests for clarification from all the players and our managers, Domenico Limardi and Laura Sartirana, the referee decided to blow the whistle to end the match”, says Pro Vercelli.
