FOOTBALL – With his fourth and fifth goal of the season, Reda Kharchouch had a very important part in FC Emmen’s 2-1 victory over Ajax’s talents, but the credits – also from the goalscorer – went to Michael Brouwer.
“He was peerless,” said Kharchouch. “When he was announced as man of the match, I was just cheering. The balls he took tonight were really great. He’s in great shape anyway.”
According to Kharchouch, Lukkien’s tactical move at halftime was also crucial. “We switched from one center striker to two center strikers. With Mart Lieder in the point and with Rui Mendes underneath, we got more and more offensive impulses. That’s why we turned it around, but also because we played with power and emotion. That was for the rest a lot less, although Ajax just played very well.”
