Red Star Belgrade confirms: Marko Marin will be head of scouting

Quote from Moabiter21

Marin had a mega career and was often at the real top clubs in her country. Olympiakis, Red Star, Ferenc are absolutely top. Chelsea, Sevilla and Bremen of his time were also top clubs.
Before the extreme version of capitalism in football where it’s all about England, Spain and a few exceptions, such a career would have been unique. Imagine you could pursue your job / hobby and live in London, Athens, Budapest, Florence and Belgrade. I find it hard to top.

You can see it one way or the other. It also depends on what exactly your goal as a footballer is.
Of course it all sounds nice, but if his goal as a footballer was to generate big changes and headlines in which he played a big role, then you have to say that it failed.
From the outside, expectations of him and his career were high, as a footballer he was a great talent. He could never live up to that.
There is no question that his path was not a total failure and if he were satisfied with it himself, everything would be fine and one can only congratulate him on the happy years in the life of the professional footballer. However, if he himself had hoped for more, his career would of course have a bitter aftertaste despite everything.
Nonetheless, you can’t undo it, but I think it’s strong that there’s already a plan in place for him and you trust his abilities. I wish him a good and healthy life there.
