Red-faced Jong Ajax empty-handed and Jong AZ plays a draw

Young Ajax lost to Almere City tonight at their own De Toekomst: 0-2. Mika Gots picked up a red card soon after the break. After a goal from Ro-Zangelo Daal, Jasper Dahlhaus equalized against Young AZ. It became 1-1.

In the first part of the game there were few chances on De Toekomst. Sontje Hansen became two dangerous before Jeredy Hilterman made the opening goal. He shot from outside the box behind Tom de Graaff: 0-1. Shortly after the break, Almere City doubled their lead. After a foul by Mika Godts, the visitors were awarded a penalty. Lance Duijvestijn unwrapped the present: 0-2.

Godts then received a red card and that marked the beginning of the end. The Belgian played the ball too far ahead of him and took the opponent with him in his sliding. Young Ajax could no longer make it difficult for Almere City, so the score remained unchanged. After the international break, the young promises will play against FC Dordrecht.

It was FC Eindhoven that got the first chance in Wijdewormer. Charles-Andreas Brym made it to the back line and then fired on the crossbar. Moments later, Evan Rottier headed wide of goal. Young AZ then came out of its shell more and got opportunities through Fedde de Jong and Iman Griffith.

In the final phase of the game it was Ro-Zangelo Daal who scored the opening goal. Griffith gave the assist on the 1-0. The victory was not won after Jasper Dahlhaus made it 1-1. The score did not change – despite a number of chances.

Jong AZ will play at home against De Graafschap on April 3 and now also has an international break.
