The Austrian company now controls the company that owns Roglic’s team: they are already working on the new shirt
Red Bull accelerates, but for once the topic is not Max Verstappen or a Formula 1 grand prix. The reference is to cycling: accelerate to the point of already seeing the next Tour de France (which starts on June 29th from Florence) a team called Red Bull without waiting for 2025? The possibility is there. Let’s see why. Scenario The Austrian company – this was already known – has purchased the controlling share of the company that owns Bora-Hansgrohe, the team that this year took Primoz Roglic (taking him away from Visma) with the aim of winning the Tour. the green light from the Austrian antitrust authorities arrived, in this sense, at the end of January: two Italians, Matteo Sobrero and Giovanni Aleotti, are also racing for the German team, while the captains for the 2024 Giro will be Dani Martinez and Kamna (but there are also Hindley, Higuita Vlasov…). Red Bull already had interests in cycling (for example, it sponsors Van Aert) as well as having diversified into sports between motorbikes, football and hockey in addition to Formula 1. And in recent days several sources have reported that Bora is being considered to an operation like the one carried out by Lidl, which became the first name of Trek, in 2023: before the Tour de France, new name of the team (Lidl-Trek, from Trek-Segafredo which it was up to that moment) and new jersey. Red Bull would thus become the main name of the team, and of course there would be new ad hoc jerseys on which they would already be working in great secrecy. Color? Similar to what we are used to seeing Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez wearing in Formula 1.
