Recycling company fire under control, fire brigade still working to remove

The fire in the warehouse of recycling company De Graaf in Purmerend is under control after a whole day of extinguishing it, but local residents can occasionally smell a burning smell due to the discharge of paper bales.

Last night a fire broke out around 1:00 am in the recycling company on Hertzstraat. The fire was seen by a passerby. After the report of the fire, great efforts were made to fight the fire, but because of the paper bales, the fire was difficult to fight.

The Zaanstreek-Waterland safety region already announced this afternoon that the fire brigade might still be busy with post-extinguishing all day. The paper from the shed had to be kept wet before it could be safely disposed of.
