Recount in four polling stations in Tilburg: House of Representatives completed quickly

The House of Representatives decided on Saturday morning to conduct a recount of the votes in the House of Representatives elections. This concerns a recount at four polling stations in Tilburg. The recount will have to take place this weekend.

There are said to be ‘inexplicable counting differences’ at the four Tilburg polling stations. There is a counting difference of more than fifteen votes. This concerns the Beatrix College offices, OBS De Fonkel, De Goede Herder parish hall and Zuiderkwartier community center. The votes will be recounted at the Brabants Afval Team (BAT) branch on Ceramstraat

The House of Representatives had been convened especially for the vote. The meeting lasted less than three minutes.

Roelien Kamminga, who replaced Vera Bergkamp as Speaker of the House, spoke of a ‘special Saturday.’ According to her, it is not often that parliament is convened on a Saturday. Even before the vote, Pieter Omzigt (NSC) asked for an external investigation. He finds it strange that the people working at the polling stations and the software did not notice the errors.
