What is the favorite music of famous Drenthe musicians? What does she touch? How does music affect their lives? In Platen van de Muzikanten, Loes van der Laan talks to artists from Drenthe about their taste in music and gets to know them better on the basis of this. Alides Hidding is a guest in the first episode.
The Time Bandits singer from Odoornerveen had his first hit in the Netherlands in 1980 with the song Hollywood Seven. Alides is proud of it. So proud that he even calls it the best song from Drenthe soil: “In all my embarrassment. I remember when I was a boy and dating a farmer’s daughter. I helped the farmer every now and then and he called me every time we were on the radio. But when I ran to the farm, I was always too late to hear it.”
Although Alides became a champion of accordion playing in Drenthe as a child, there is no accordion music in his list of favorites. What touches him, what Alides thinks of Eros Ramazotti and which simple song makes him very happy, he tells in this episode of Platen van de Muzikanten.
