After an absence of two and a half weeks, Johan Derksen and his colleagues are back on television. Their program Today Inside managed to captivate no less than 1.5 million viewers (32% market share) on SBS 6 yesterday and that is a record. Never before this year have so many people watched the daily version of VI.

No historical record

So far, the daily VI record stood at 1.3 million viewers for the episode announcing the candle exit. Then Angela de Jong was a guest in the program, yesterday Heleen van Royen was sitting at the table. At the end of the broadcast, the writer gave a spicy sneer to the AD opinion diva.

It’s not the most watched VI episode ever. The record stands at 1.7 million viewers for the broadcast about the racism in 2020. Then the program was broadcast twice a week on Veronica.

Disappointed in Talpa

Not only Johan Derksen, but also Wilfred Genee spoke extensively in VI yesterday about the consequences of the candle riot. “There was a company that didn’t want to work with me as a presenter. They thought it was sensitive, because they want to hire women and if I present that, that is of course not possible. There were also a few guests who did not want to come to BNR.”

Wilfred is disappointed in Talpa. “I wasn’t very happy with the way the company handled it until now. Also with René and me. I didn’t think it was all that great either. How they treated us. What was the first reaction after the broadcast. I also doubted for a while: there is so much coming at you, but I think we make very nice television.”

Johan let it be known that there was interest from the NPO. “We had a fantastic offer from the public broadcaster. He wanted to continue with us for years to come.”

Martijn Krabbé on two

The other most viewed titles on prime time were RTL 4’s Koop Zonder Kijken (1.1 million and 23%), NPO 1’s Kassa (1.1 million and 23%) and SBS 6’s Chateau Bijstand (1 million and 21%).

Furthermore, no prime-time title managed to reach the top 15 viewership. Better, the program that NPO 1 broadcast at half past nine, was very disappointing with 547 thousand viewers (11%).

Viewing figures

Other programs that did not make the top 15 include Shownieuws (563 thousand), Beau (562 thousand), Khalid and Sophie (516 thousand), Nieuwsuur (437 thousand), Time for MAX (419 thousand) and HLF8 (343 thousand). .
