Deichmann has taken a big step forward in the renovation of its company headquarters in Essen. The shell was just completed there.
Now the shoe retailer celebrated the topping-out ceremony at its headquarters in Essen, Deichmann announced on Wednesday. The company started construction on a new office and administration building on campus in 2022.
The new five-story main building will be the heart of the campus. The energy supply and energy management also play an important role in the construction concept. Photovoltaic and geothermal systems will be used.
“The project represents a necessary investment in the future viability of our family business,” explains Heinrich Deichmann, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Deichmann SE. “My father built the first building here in 1968. Since then, our company has grown continuously – always through our own efforts, by the way. The new building is an expression of the positive development of our company over the past decades. It is also an investment in the future of our group of companies.”
The construction project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025, cover a usable area of over 7,000 square meters and provide space for 225 physical workplaces.
