Vladimir Putin had already decided on Saturday morning to flatten the Wagner convoy on its way to Moscow. So says the Belarusian leader Aleksandr Lukashenko in his account of that perilous day. “I suggested to Putin not to rush and to talk to Prigozhin,” he emphasizes his own role. But most intriguingly, he labels the Wagner boss a deluded hero. While Putin refuses to call him by name — which is as good as a death sentence.
