A judicial investigation, a contact ban and a restraining order because of domestic violence: despite the warnings of a concerned mother (43) from Merksplas, her ex-boyfriend Peter V. (44) was still able to enter her home with a machete. What followed is pure horror, a massacre and a hostage situation. Her son Jarne (19) did not survive the attack. Peter V. is being brought before the examining magistrate today on suspicion of murder, attempted murder and unlawful deprivation of liberty. A reconstruction of that day.
