Crisis emergency shelters have been found in various places tonight for asylum seekers who cannot go to the application center in Ter Apel due to crowds, the Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (COA) reports.
75 asylum seekers will be housed in Emmen, 75 in Kampen and 95 in Stadskanaal, a spokesperson said.
Due to the redistribution, it is expected that everyone will be accommodated in Ter Apel in the night from Wednesday to Thursday. It is still unclear whether there is a bed for everyone or whether people also have to sleep on chairs. The application center in Ter Apel has been overcrowded for a long time, because the flow of permit holders from reception locations to homes has stagnated.
