“Received an unsafe situation:” Police inspect demolition works in Bredene

The images are circulating in the Facebook group Bredene Breed. They show the demolition of a former bakery, on the corner of Duinenstraat and Golfstraat.

The yard is closed off with fences: the debris goes far beyond the fences on the road. This leads to a dangerous situation for anyone who happens to pass by.

“We actually received a report from worried passers-by,” says general director Jan Eerebout of the municipality of Bredene. “We have sent a police patrol to the scene to make observations. The demolition works are fully licensed, but that does not alter the fact that it must be done correctly.”
