The motto of The Night of Ideasthis year is “(Re)build the common”. And “the common” in the case of this event that takes place in more than 100 countries in the world, are the things that happened to all of us in the last two years, but also those that concern us for the future. “This motto represents a vision that is very aware of the times we are in, but also very positive, with the will to move forward through think together, to dialogue to understand what are the incredible challenges to come: sustainable development, the fight for climate change, the conditions of social ties, of citizenship. All these tasks will have to be thought of in common, and all of them will need a great re-construction process”, he explains. Lionel Paradisi Coulouma, current Counselor at the head of the Cooperation and Cultural Action Service of the France embassy Y Director of the French Institute of Argentina.
These two institutions (together with the Medife Foundation) are the engine of two days in which thought and art come together to reflect, from different disciplines, on the time we live in. In Argentina, La Noche de las Ideas will have its sixth edition in 2022, and the difference with respect to the previous ones is the expansion of the meeting places for the participants, which will include some of the main cities of the country.
“Last year we had to adapt to the context of the health crisis and it was really a challenge to put the entire event online,” explains Paradisi-Coulouma. This year our strategic decision was to take on a new challenge and get closer to all the territories and provinces, relying on the great network of local partners that the French Institute has, throughout Argentina, and also on the great network of Alliances françaises. Thus, we chose 8 cities (AMBA, Córdoba, Tucumán, Santa Fe, Rosario, Mendoza, Mar del Plata and Ushuaia) to develop activities with the French Alliances and local, provincial and municipal authorities”.
How will this edition be?
The Night of Ideas 2022 will take place on January 27 and 28, from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., in the cities mentioned by the head of the French Institute of Argentina.
