Ski racer Viktoria Rebensburg (Kreuth) has won a race in the Alpine World Cup for the first time in almost three years. The 25-year-old Olympic champion from 2010 and World Championships runner-up from 2015 won the giant slalom in Flachau, Austria, ahead of Ana Drev from Slovenia (0.94 seconds behind) and Federica Brignone (Italy/+0.99). Rebensburg’s eleventh World Cup victory was her first since January 2013 at the Super-G in Cortina d’Ampezzo. Maria Höfl-Riesch (Partenkirchen), who has since retired, had her last German success at the end of January 2014 on the downhill in Cortina.
