The rebels in the insurgent Ethiopian region of Tigray have declared their readiness for a renewed ceasefire on Sunday. They also announced that they would accept the start of a peace process led by the African Union. This seems to be an important step towards negotiations between them and the national government to end the two-year war in the north of the country.
