The e-commerce company Rebelle, which specializes in second-hand fashion, is now also presenting itself stationary: from February 14th to 26th it will operate its own pop-up store in the Berlin department store Galeries Lafayette. During this time, “a changing selection of authenticity-tested pre-loved bags, dresses, shoes and accessories” from the online marketplace’s range of 250,000 items will be offered on an area of 74 square meters, the Hamburg-based company announced on Tuesday.
“We are pleased with the openness of Galeries Lafayette to make fashion consumption more sustainable and circular with us. And we love the great product selection. There are special pieces that optimally complement the offer of the Galeries Lafayette Berlin,” explained Max Schönemann, the co-founder and CEO of Rebelle – StyleRemains GmbH, in a statement.
Philippe Hugot, Managing Director of Galeries Lafayette Berlin, explained the advantages of the collaboration for the department store: “With Rebelle we enable our customers to give their designer pieces a second life,” he explained. “We also want to offer our customers unique products and shopping experiences. Thanks to the cooperation with Rebelle, we can present them with unique items that are not available in other retail stores.”
Even before the opening of the pop-up store, interested parties can sell used products “for sale on Rebelle.com in the Galeries Lafayette Berlin” from February 10th to 12th as part of a so-called “Wardrobe Detox Event”, explained the e-commerce specialist and announced an additional incentive: “Anyone who brings at least three pre-loved designer pieces with them on these days will receive a 100 euro voucher for the Galeries Lafayette Berlin in addition to the sales proceeds from Rebelle,” says a statement.
