Real Madrid have extended Nacho Fernández’s contract by another year until 2024. This was officially announced by the “Royal” on Thursday. The 33-year-old Spanish international also replaces Karim Benzema (35), who is moving to Al-Ittihad Club in Saudi Arabia, as Los Blancos captain.
After the departure of the French, homegrown Nacho longest-serving Real professional – next to Luka Modric (37), provided that he also extends as expected. The central defender, who has been part of the first team since 2012, has played 319 games (16 goals) for the Madrilenians so far, 44 of them in the past season.
