Record winners Real Madrid are aiming for their fifth title at the Club World Cup.
The Champions League winners beat Egypt’s Al Ahly 4-1 (1-0) in the semi-finals in Rabat, Morocco, and will face Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal in the final on Saturday.
Vinicius Junior (42nd), Federico Valverde (46th), Rodrygo (90th + 2nd) and Sergio Arribas (90th + 8th) scored the goals of the favorite. Luka Modric also failed with a penalty kick on Mohamed El-Shenawy (87th).
Toni Kroos and Antonio RĂ¼diger were in the starting XI for the Royals, who had to do without some stars due to injuries. Ali Maaloul meanwhile reduced the penalty for Al Ahly with a penalty kick (65th).
Al-Hilal had surprisingly defeated the Brazilian club Flamengo from Rio de Janeiro in Tangier (3:2) in the first semi-final and reached the final of the Club World Cup for the first time. The teams from Europe had recently secured the title nine times in a row.
