Real Madrid meets RB Leipzig in the Champions League. The journey to Saxony was bumpy for the team.
The Real Madrid bus is said to have been involved in an accident on the way to Leipzig. On the A4 motorway between Eichelborn and Nohra, a car apparently hit the team bus of the top Spanish club, as “Bild” reports. The driver is said to have overlooked the bus when changing lanes – one of his exterior mirrors had broken off.
The amount of damage to Real’s bus is still unclear, but that to the car amounts to around 3,000 euros. After a short stay, the journey could continue for coach Carlo Ancelotti’s team. The “Royal” will meet RB Leipzig on Tuesday (from 9 p.m. in the live ticker on t-online). In the first leg of the round of 16, the teams are fighting for a good starting position to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Real had already rescheduled at the weekend because of the strike at Leipzig airport and landed in Erfurt on Monday morning. We then traveled in the team bus towards RB.
