Real Madrid does not contemplate the return of the Portuguese coach

Tuchel, Pochettino, Raúl and Xabi Alonso are the options that the white club is considering

The defeat at the Spotify Camp Nou against Barça (2-1) has left very touched to Carlo Ancelotti. The third KO in an official match this season in the classic left the League practically sentenced in favor of Barça, who already ‘swiped’ the Spanish Super Cup at the beginning of 2023.

The Italian coach will play his future in the next 27 days in which he will decide the return of the Copa del Rey against Barça, also in the blaugrana fiefdom, and the quarterfinals of the Champions League against Chelsea. Of course, the elimination in both competitions would mean his sudden dismissal.

In anticipation that the team continues in free fall, in the ‘white house’ they are already studying the best option to relieve the veteran coach. Since the blow that Xavi’s Barça dealt him in the League, several options have been considered. Although the casting has already been reduced to four names: Raúl González, Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino and Xabi Alonso, the president’s favorite, Florentino Pérez.

Who does not appear in the list of futures is José Mourinho. Part of the fans would welcome the return of the Portuguese. And also some sector of the directive. But the reality is that Real Madrid is not contemplating a second spell for the current Roma coach at Chamartín, as confirmed by José Félix Díaz in ‘Marca’.

The Madrid newspaper explains that the relationship between Mourinho and Florentino Pérez continues to be fluid despite the fact that a decade has passed since the Portuguese left the white club. ‘Mou’ follows white news very closely and his messages of support or joy, depending on the results, follow one another, like the periodic talks with the president and some managers.

Despite this good tune, Mourinho’s name has never been on the table as a possible replacement for Ancelotti. A ‘Carletto’, by the way, who in the event of dismissal, would have a free hand to accept the proposal that has come to direct the Brazilian team.

The results will determine whether the veteran Italian coach ends the season or is sacked before completing his second year of contract.
