The former Italian coach told a story from the 2006/07 season about Ronaldo Nazariowhen Silvio Berlusconi, then owner of AC Milan, contacted him to ask about the possibility of signing the Brazilian striker.
“I remember that Silvio Berlusconi called me to ask me how Ronaldo was doing. I told him that he didn’t even train and that he really liked parties and women, so hiring him for Milan would be a mistake.. The next day I saw the newspaper headlines: ‘Ronaldo in Milan’. It was a lot of fun”, he explained about the footballer’s arrival at the San Siro in January 2007. “The decision to fire Ronaldo and sign Cassano helped create a winning spirit in the team”, he added about the influence of that move in Madrid.
Capello, at the aforementioned festival, has also recognized that the team that has marked him the most in his long career on the bench is, precisely, Real Madrid. “The Bernabéu is a sanctuary, the responsibilities were enormous.
