Uruguay national soccer player Federico Valverde has extended his contract with Real Madrid for the long term.
As the Royals announced on Thursday, his new working paper runs until 2029. This makes him the fourth player in two weeks who will probably stay with the Champions League record winner for a long time.
Winger Vinicius Junior had previously been extended until 2027, right winger Rodrygo until 2028 and central midfielder Eduardo Camavinga until 2029.
Valverde has been under contract in Madrid since July 2016 and was loaned to Deportivo La Coruna for one year in the 2017/2018 season. Since the 2018/2019 season, the midfield engine has appeared in 220 competitive games across all competitions, scoring 19 goals and recording 18 assists. During this time, he won the Spanish championship twice with Real (2020, 2022) and the Champions League once (2022).
President Florentino Perez is securing important players for Real Madrid with the extensions and is building a strong squad for the next few years.
