Previous leaders Real Madrid suffered their first defeat of the season in LaLiga and fell to third place in the table. Four days after the 1-0 win in the Champions League against 1. FC Union Berlin, the team around German professionals Antonio Rüdiger and Toni Kroos lost the city duel at Atlético Madrid 1:3 (1:2).

Atlético opened up the center and Real were not doing well at the back. “Usually in a moment like this, the left defender or a central defender moves forward to close the space and be more compact. But we weren’t compact today when we conceded three goals,” said the 64-year-old Italian.
