Since ‘The Story of Flanders’, Tom Waes has become the best-known and most popular history teacher in these regions. We spoke to two real history teachers who do it with slightly less applause, subsidies and wages, but with at least as much enthusiasm. “It is a pity that Waes paints a somewhat negative image of history at school in interviews.”
