In the BENE League, the handball players of Volendam booked a close victory against low-flying Houten tonight. The team of coach Geert Hinskens eventually won 37-38 when visiting the PhD candidate.
The victory means Volendam is doing well in the race for a place in the Final Four. With two games to go, Volendam has a three-point lead over number five Aalsmeer. Aalsmeer will play on Sunday against Limburg Lions, number four in the rankings.
