The Israeli Army (IDF) has launched an offensive operation against Hamas at Al Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip. According to the IDF, this is a “precise and targeted operation against Hamas in a specific area of the Shifa hospital.” According to Israel and the White House, a Hamas command post is located under the hospital. The United Nations estimates that at least 2,300 patients, staff and displaced civilians are stranded in hospital.
