The final of the Youth League will be played in a well-filled Stade de Genève. AZ has around 200 supporters in the stadium, Hajduk Split has brought 15,000 fans to Switzerland.

AZ Under 19 will start without Mexx Meerdink in the final of the Youth League. The 19-year-old striker played with the first against RKC Waalwijk (3-0) yesterday. He joined the selection for the final at the last minute, but is on the bench. Finn Stam got red in the semi-final and is therefore suspended against Hajduk Split. The Youth League is an international football tournament for youth teams up to the age of 19. The tournament was organized for the first time in 2013 and consists of a group stage and a knockout stage. A total of 32 teams participate in the Youth League. All first teams of the clubs that have qualified for the group stage of the Champions League automatically participate. Through an additional field of participants, called theDomestic Champions Path, another 32 additional teams will participate. In this way AZ has entered the tournament.

AZ is the first Dutch club in history to reach the final of the Youth League. The Alkmaarders eliminated Shamrock Rovers, Red Star Belgrade, Eintracht Frankfurt, FC Barcelona, ​​Real Madrid and Sporting Portugal on their way to the final.
