Reactions to the departure of VVD MP De Neef: ‘It is nice that he has found out that the VVD is not his party’ | Opinion

‘Member of parliament from VVD on asylum approach’ (AD 1-9). After 18 years, Daan de Neef resigns from his party membership of the VVD. He believes that his party lacked compassion and that there is an ice-cold approach to the asylum-seeker issue. It is great that he has finally found out that the VVD is no longer his party. That speaks for him. In my opinion, since the first Rutte cabinet took office, the VVD has shown that it has no compassion for or wants to support people with fewer opportunities to develop than the so-called higher educated and hard (street) fighters. There should be a prime minister and cabinet for all residents of the Netherlands. I sincerely hope that more VVD members and voters will consider everything that has now come to be called an issue, affair or crisis. And whether the VVD has been on time (government is foresight, right?) to prevent this. Or has everything been a premeditated political choice and commitment?
