RCH reaches the last four in major league baseball: “This is really a top performance”

A historic achievement by RCH Penguins. The baseball club from Heemstede is in the play-offs of the major league baseball for the first time, after Twins Oosterhout was defeated on Sunday (8-2). RCH was also too strong for the Brabant team on Saturday, so that they reached the last four based on mutual results. “Really great, so happy and above all proud”, chairman Frits van Iperen responds.

“Reaching the top four with this selection is really a top achievement,” says van Iperen.

RCH and Twins end the regular season with the same number of points (25), but the head-to-head result is in favor of the Heemstedelingen. The difference in the deciding game was made in the fourth inning. RCH then took a lead of seven points (!) and that margin contributed to the big win.

Follow-up competition

As RCH also won against Twins (2-0) on Saturday, the North Hollanders are among the top four teams: Neptunus, HCAW (Bussum) and Amsterdam Pirates. The competition will be suspended next week, as HCAW and Pirates participate in the European Champions Cup. The follow-up competition starts from June 15.
